EMAYA PENS BABY!!!!
first, “colored” is considered offensive; a more appropriate term is “women of color.”
second, i can’t say with complete certainty why the writers do what they do; i’m not in their heads. but i know how racism in the media works, and i’ve suggested that the writers don’t care as much about Emaya as they do about the other relationships, some of the reasons being that Emily and Maya aren’t white and they aren’t straight.
A lot of people will be upset if this is the end of Emaya forever. (But i don’t think that Emaya represents the whole gay community; the “community” is very diverse and includes a lot of different types of relationships, and while Emily/Maya do represent a subsection it would be inaccurate to imply that their relationship represents the LBGTQ community period.)
i’ve read a lot on here about people who have been inspired and empowered by Emily and Maya’s relationship, and i think that’s awesome! i’m sorry to hear that you’re dealing with depression, and i hope that you have someone to talk to about it. If not, the Trevor Project might be a good resource to talk to someone, if you’re in the united states.

i don’t know if Maya will be in season 3. They left it open so that the body found might not be hers. The producers also suggested that there might be flashbacks of Maya in season 3, but no one knows for sure.
Personally, i think they’re teasing us by saying we’ll get Maya in season 3 just so that we’ll still watch. but who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us.
They don’t respect what Emaya fans want because the Emaya fanbase is a minority — two strikes: they’re queer, and they’re women of color. It’s tough to make the mainstream care.
Emaya <3
i think Marlene King cares more about $/ratings than she cares about Emaya fans (i don’t think that makes her a bitch - not that being a bitch is a bad thing).
it’s also my understanding that Maya might not be dead/the body found might not be hers (someone correct me on this if i’m wrong).
i agree with you on one thing: PLL is not worth watching without Emaya.
